Zhangde Chinese Dance focuses on developing students’ potential in dance, as well as building dancers’ character. Our CCA has recently clinched a Certificate of Accomplishment in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation 2016. This would not be possible without the teamwork and resilience displayed by our Chinese dancers.
Each CCA session starts with a 30-minutes warm up, which includes stretches, splits and bridges. After which, the instructor will drill on the specific movements of the choreography. They will then end off with dancing to the choreography with music accompaniment.
Our Chinese dancers perform periodically for various school events and celebrations such as Chinese New Year and Racial Harmony day. The dancers also participate actively in performances outside the school such as the Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru Chinese New Year Celebration and National Day dinners.
Character development is infused into weekly training practices where the teachers and instructors emphasize on the importance of teamwork and resilience. Dancers are also encouraged to strive for their best during the practice sessions. They are also exposed to various dance genres through attending the annual Chingay and other concerts.
