Malay Dance

The Malay Dance club was set up to provide an opportunity for pupils to develop their aesthetic skills. Pupils are given an avenue to learn more about the Malay culture through dance. During the weekly practice sessions, pupils are exposed to a repertoire of traditional Malay Dances namely Inang, Masri, Zapin, Joget and Asli.

Besides exposing pupils’ to national competitions such as the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), the pupils are also given the opportunity to perform for school-based events. Through the practice sessions and performances, Malay Dance discipline and value of responsibility are instilled in the pupils.
