Programmes
Art Curriculum
Art is one of the core subjects in the primary school curriculum. It is a progressive 6-year programme to provide students with a holistic learning experience in Art through Seeing, Appreciating and Expressing themselves through Art.
The School’s Art curriculum aims to enable every child to enjoy Art, communicate visually and make meaning through connecting with society and culture. It incorporates features to facilitate the development of knowledge, skills and values for all levels. A wide range of 2-D and 3-D art forms are included to provide students with exposure to a variety of art experiences.

P3 | Chinese Painting | To expose students to different forms of painting starting from experimentation of colour mixing to specific skills in Chinese painting. |
P4 | Ceramics | To learn techniques in creating 3D artwork and to build confidence in these techniques |
P4 | Museum Based Learning | To develop appreciation and pride in local art, culture and heritage |
P5 | Digital Drawing | To expose students to other ways of creative expression through drawing on digital devices. |
P6 | Ceramics | To apply hand building techniques learnt in Paper Clay module and to build confidence in these techniques. |
P6 | Experiences Beyond the Classroom | Students go on a teacher-curated Post-PSLE Art Programme as a form of consolidation of the learning they have acquired from their Art lessons. |
Music Curriculum
The School’s Music Curriculum consists of a progressive 6-year programme in music education which incorporates musical experiences that encompass listening, creating and performing of music.
The curriculum aims to equip students with the ability for creative expression and communication through music. This includes exposure to an array of music repertoire to expand their musical experiences and the opportunity to learn and play a range of musical instruments such as the electronic keyboard, ukulele, the Cajon and STOMP instruments.

P1 | Handbells | To scaffold students’ understanding of musical notes and to learn to work in groups as they move on to other instruments in P2. |
P2 | Xylophones / Resonator Bells | To expose students to the first pitched instrument made up of an octave of notes. |
P3 | Electronic Keyboard |
To equip students with note reading skills and prepare them to play simple songs with proper fingering and techniques. |
P3 | Recorder | To equip students with sound techniques and listening skills as they learn to play an instrument with a very rich history behind it. |
P3 | Live Performance Experience | To expose students to live performances in a real-life performance setting eg. A theatre or concert hall and to teach audience etiquette. |
P4 | Ukulele | To acquire skills in playing the instrument and to learn some improvisation techniques. As one of the most versatile musical instruments, the ukulele can be played in many styles and techniques. |
P5 | Cajon | To equip students with knowledge of common rhythmic patterns used to accompany popular songs. Playing this instrument will also serve to strengthen students’ listening skills as they learn to play in groups. |
P6 | Composers (Local and Beyond) |
To appreciate music from the Singapore culture, regional cultures as well as repertoire from the Western Classical tradition. |
