Wushu Club
Wushu Club
The ZPS Wushu Club was formed in 2008. Currently, we have a total of 76 members ranging from P3 to P6. The club participates in competitions at national as well as at international levels. Some competitions include the annual National Primary Wushu Championship and Singapore International Martial Arts Tournament.
Recently, some of our P6 members took part in the National School Games Wushu Competition 2021. With the COVID-19 safe management measures in place, our members exhibited values such as versatility and resilience. They focused on giving their personal best and persevered throughout the weekly CCA sessions and extra trainings.
Apart from competing in Wushu competitions, our members regularly perform at various school and public events. The performances include a myriad of Wushu styles as recommended by our coaches. Some performances include our yearly Chinese New Year concerts as well as our school’s Open House.
Newcomers will be introduced to the basic stances and techniques of Wushu. Periodic grading is conducted to gauge the progress of all members before they move on to advanced levels. Through this process of assessment and learning, our Wushu members seek to continually improve oneself and achieve greater heights with zeal.
